As every year, the Ranger Seminar will take place as part of the Memorial Danilo Re. It offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the work of rangers from various protected areas across the entire Alpine region and to exchange experiences.
The theme of this year’s Ranger Seminar is:
Management of visitor flows in sensitive natural areas by Alpine ranger and available tools
The seminar will highlight the experiences of rangers in managing visitor flows and the measures they apply in their daily work – from providing information and guiding visitors to restricting access and imposing fines when necessary. A particular focus will be placed on the use of modern outdoor tools, such as digital platforms for outdoor activities.
Rangers may also share their proposals for improving digital tools like e.g. Outdooractive, Komoot, or Geotreck, with the aim of fostering greater respect for the natural environment among users. The seminar may also explore future developments and needs in visitor management, drawing on the experience and recommendations of rangers.
The Ranger Seminar will take place on Friday, 23 January 2026, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Hotel Kompas, Kranjska Gora. We are inviting all protected areas to share their experience, best practice and results.
